Olie's Oasis
By: Amaya Castillo
A student of the class of 2021 named Quincie Bump’s had an idea of an outdoor space for students to relax and learn about ecologically conscious gardening. The “oasis” can be found near the library, and was made to promote sustainable living and influence students to make lasting change by using drought-tolerant plants and to be a place for students to enjoy their time outside. The garden is full of color, life and even tiles made by last year's OHS students, staff and parents last year through a fundraiser hosted by Eco Club, so go check them out! Other than subtly teaching us about sustainability, the garden was made to promote mental health and to help future generations improve. So if you're looking for a fun, calm, secluded area to visit with your friends, go and check it out!
