Summer School Registration Closes on 04/15
What is Summer School?
Summer School is a 3-week course remediation program. A grade earned in Summer School can replace one semester grade in an equivalent course. This is an opportunity for students to retake a semester class. Some students use it to speedrun a course or two, freeing their schedule for other classes. However, only remediation courses will be available this year, with the exception of Health. Summer School will be in-person from June 5, 2022 to June 27, 2022 at Olympian High School. School will start at 8:00 am and end at 1:30 pm, depending on which periods the student is assigned. Each period will last 2:30 hours, with a 30 min break in between. Students may request up to two courses, although only those courses with sufficient interest will get a class. Who is it for? Summer school is aimed primarily at incoming 10th to 12th students with a D or F in semester grades. Courses with an F grade can't be claimed as credit for graduation. Additionally, some colleges don't accept classes with a D grade in their admission requirements. Summer School is an opportunity to remediate those grades. As always, Health is also available as a Summer School class. Rising seniors (current juniors) are prioritized in selection, but everyone is welcome to request a class. Some students take their required Health semester during Summer Break to free class slots. How do I register for a course? Register online on your Infinite Campus account. Go to: Infinite Campus > Campus Student > Log In > Pancake () > More > Course Registration > 2022-2023 Summer > Add Course. Classes labelled "A" are semester 1 classes. Classes labelled "B" are semester 2 classes. Be sure to select the correct class and semester that you want to remediate. As a reminder, you can only request 2 classes per student at most. Requesting a class is not the same as enrolling in it. If there isn't enough interest, the class may not be offered. Full timeline and instructions here. |
Students with a D or F in a required course for graduation, and rising seniors who want to take Health during break, should consider signing up for summer school. Instructions inside.
