Holiday Themed Things To Do While at Home
By: Adrielle Escaño
“Merry COVID Christmas!” as many are saying this holiday season. Many of our favorite things to do during the holiday season are closed down, we need to find ways to keep the spirit while at home! Here are a few things you can do inside:
1. Listen to holiday music The best way to get into the holiday spirit is to shuffle your holiday playlist and have a little dance party. You can find pre-made playlists on Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube. Plus, new holiday music is coming out or you could always stick to the classics! 2. Watch holidays movies There are so many holiday classics that you could have a movie marathon! Your marathon could start with “Home Alone”, “The Grinch”, “A Christmas Carol”, “The Polar Express”, or “Elf”. You can find a bunch of movies on streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and so many more! |
3. Get inside the kitchen
From hot chocolate to ultimate sticky toffee pudding, there are so many yummy foods to make inside the kitchen. You could even try to make something new, you might like it! You can make it alone or invite a friend or family member to come join you. 4. Make crafts
Paper snowflakes. Christmas tree pinecones. Fingerprint Christmas lights. Snow globes. The possibilities are endless. You can even use items you find at home and make something new! 5. Decorate gingerbread houses and gingerbread people A holiday classic! Maybe even host a little competition between your friends and/or family and see who can decorate the best gingerbread house and people. A little tip: use hot melted sugar to piece your gingerbread house piece together. Be careful the hot sugar can burn your skin! |
6. Decorate your home
This always gets me in the holiday spirit. From putting up a tree and decorating it to hanging up lights or stockings, there are so many things to do. Maybe even fill your home with the crafts you made! If you need some inspiration, I recommend looking on Pinterest 8. Deep clean your house/room
Last but not least, with the extra time you have on your hands due to winter break, take some time to deep clean your house and room. You can find lots of stuff that you don’t use anymore but are still in good condition and you can donate that to local homeless shelters. |
