APRIL 2024

Fulfillment

By Je’Shua Raboteau
Picture
Living for our own selfish ambition is like chasing the wind. We will never come to a state of happiness, it is a temporary emotion. We cannot always be happy but we can remain content. Contentedness means, “a state of satisfaction.” There is nothing that could add or take away from it, because there’s no term or condition.
Very few people come to that state of fulfillment or satisfaction, as it comes in many shapes and forms. Satisfaction comes when we take a moment and shift the focus away from ourselves, and turn it to others. It comes when we share love that is unconditional, not in expectation of anything in return. Whoever has much to give, whether it’s time, money, wisdom, or knowledge, let him give to those in need. “Studies have shown that when individuals give to charitable causes, they experience a sense of purpose and fulfillment that can have a positive impact on their mental health.”
